Maxitherm Boilers, established in 1946, has evolved from a specialist in industrial boiler and pressure vessel design to a leader in mini-power plants and solid waste energy recovery solutions. With over 500 successful installations for industrial and municipal applications, Maxitherm combines decades of research and development to deliver cutting-edge combustion technology. The Environmental Group, together with Maxitherm is committed to meeting the energy demands of today and tomorrow, providing efficient, sustainable solutions for a cleaner, greener future.
Our boilers feature a proven reverse flame combustion design, providing an efficient three-pass gas flow system. The large pressurised combustion chamber allows the first two gas passes to occur within the chamber itself. The reversing flame scrubs the gases, ensuring multiple re-entries into the high-temperature zone before the final pass through the smoke tubes. Dimples in the tubes slow gas passage, improving heat transfer efficiency.
This design optimises the balance between radiant and convection heating surfaces for maximum efficiency when using gas or oil. The pressurised combustion system means the boiler operates independently of chimney draught, allowing for reduced chimney sizes and lower installation costs.
The easy-to-clean design allows access to all heating surfaces via the burner door, enabling cleaning while the boiler remains hot and in operation—eliminating downtime and maintaining efficiency. Wet back construction with an insulated firing door ensures maximum heat retention and reduces condensation risks.
Additional features include a demountable casing system, a strengthened and braced top casing that serves as a walkway, and compliance with all relevant Australian standards.

This boiler has been specially designed for small boiler installation where simplicity and ease of operation are the primary requisite. This model has all features of the larger boiler and its construction and performance is unequalled by similar capacity boilers. The integrally designed combustion equipment is available for use with all type of gaseous light oil or combination fuels. Require only minimum maintenance and supervision to provide low cost steam. You pay for what you use and no more!
Features
The development of the wet back construction by Maxitherm’s Research and Development engineers resulted in a package boiler design which completely eliminates gas sealing or heat loss problems, lower maintenance, simplifies accessibility and makes your plant room cleaner and cooler
The complicated refractory system required by a dry back boiler are eliminated. Access to the gas reversal chamber is simple and fast via a small hinged manway.
The completely water cooled combustion chamber increases the proportion of radiant heating surface, lowering the gas temperature at the entrance to the first convection pass and increases the overall operating efficiency of the Maxitherm boilers. The result lower fuel cost!
Features
Maxitherm has developed the design of wet back package steam boiler to be able to burn solid fuel. Maxitherm boiler model EKW has large furnace diameter, which could be installed with fix grate or small stoker for low ash fuels.
The wet back construction has many advantages as higher heating surface, lower metal temperature, less refractories, means less maintenance cost.
This boiler model is designed for use with wood chip, briquettes and low ash coals and is fitted with a pneumatic fuel feeding system and fixed high velocity grates.
Features
The model C underfired multi tubular boiler is one of the traditional design in the Maxitherm range and has been field proven many times over. The simple rugged design is ideal for applications where simplicity of operation an low maintenance are of the paramount importance.
The model C maxitherm design is ideal for application to waste heat recovery.
Maxitherm’s underfired boilers can be equipped for the combustion of all type of fuel or combination of fuels. Conversion from one fuel to another is also possible to meet future fuel price and availability fluctuation.
Features
Maxitherm water tube steam boilers range, from outputs of 1000 kW – 50 M.W. in both saturated and superheated steam delivery. The Maxitherm water tube boilers can utilise most types of Liquid and Gaseous fuels available, including process gas steams and combinations of fuels.
The safe and proven Maxitherm ‘D’ type design configuration delivers outstanding longevity and cost efficiency through the provision of high thermal efficiency, ease of maintenance and incorporation of quality based equipment, instrumentation, controls, and burners in a packaged boiler.
The fully engineered steam boiler package is designed for safe, fully automatic and unattended operation in accord with Australian Standards. The benefit of this is to enable operation without the need for skilled operators attending the boiler plant constantly.
The Maxitherm boiler range uses a ‘D’ type configuration for the arrangement for the steam and water drums and the water tube assemblies.
The overwhelming advantages of the Maxitherm design with it’s fast and positive circulatory system has resulted in being chosen by clients seeking delivery of achieved long term value all over Australia and the World.
