The Environmental Group Limited (ASX: EGL) and Reclaim Waste have received EPA approval for their patented PFAS treatment system – both in Australia and in the USA at the Laverton facility in Victoria. This marks a major step forward in PFAS removal and environmental protection in Australia.

EPA Approval for PFAS Drives Innovation and Industry Collaboration

The system is fully operational with EPA license at Reclaim Waste’s Laverton North facility in Victoria. Notably, the approval follows the grant of EGL’s Australian and USA patent. This patented process improves on traditional foam fractionation by integrating hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants into the gas flow—dramatically increasing the efficiency and spectrum of PFAS compounds extracted from wastewater, soils and biosolids.

The Laverton facility is now licensed to accept PFAS-contaminated liquid waste in accordance with the EPA’s updated March 2025 waste classification framework. Moreover, trials have demonstrated high effectiveness in treating contaminated soils and biosolids.

As a result, this extends the system’s application across legacy contamination sites, urban redevelopment areas, and active industrial operations.
