1. Water Tube Steam Boiler

The Tomlinson Energy Water Tube Steam Boiler is a 100% Australian design product produced entirely in Quality Assured workshop.

  • The unique design of the Tomlinson energy Boiler incorporates the latest technology and material availability. By achieving a given output with a smaller frame size boiler realises a more efficient use of materials and heating surfaces.
  • The tube arrangement employs a mixture of plain and precision machine welded membrane tubes in the furnace and outer convection bank walls as well as extended surface ESCOA tube in the cooler section of the convection bank. This results in fewer tubes in total with greater available heat transfer surfaces.
  • The furnace construction is a full water wall arrangement. (i.e. front wall, rear wall, two sides, roof and floor are all steam generating surfaces) leaving the furnace almost entirely refractory free.
  • Our method of construction allows the external insulation and cladding to be very lightweight mineral wool and Aluminium cladding sheets that are easily removed and refitted should inspection of the pressure vessel ever be required.
  • The boiler steam drum contains our unique design of steam conditioning internals. This ensures stable water level management against even the arduous of operating conditions, with steam dryness guaranteed in excess of 99%.
  • We elect to retain, usually at a premium, quality, industry proven ancillary items that have full manufacturers support within Australia.

2. Tomlinson Pressure Deaerators

Advanced  Technology for Superior Oxygen Removal and Customisable Storage Capacity

The Tomlinson Energy Service pressure deaerator is based on Kennicott / John Thompson technology and is made in a size range from 10 t/h to 500 t/h. Water leaving the deaerator contains less than 0.005 mg/l of oxygen. The standard models operate at 20 kPa above atmospheric pressure, however higher-pressure units are available where higher feedwater temperatures are required. The standard deaerator is usually coupled to a vessel having 10 minutes storage capacity; however the storage capacity can be customised to suit the process.

Design details are illustrated in the borchure. Water entering the spray chamber is discharged into the deaerating head through spring loaded spray nozzles. These special spray nozzles are designed to efficiently atomise the water over widely varying flow conditions. The finely divided water particles are heated in the deaerating head by steam flowing up from the scrubber into the head. Oxygen and carbon dioxide released in the head are vented to atmosphere through a water-cooled pipe running through the spray chamber. Steam entrained with the gases is condensed in this pipe; this minimises heat loss from the system. The deaerated boiling water is drained into the storage vessel through a stainless-steel scrubber where it is vigorously agitated to strip it of practically all remaining gas.

The standard deaerator is fitted with pneumatically operated water flow and deaerator pressure control valves. Standard fittings include a water level gauge, level transmitter, pressure transmitter, vacuum relief valve, overflow control valve and drain valve.

4. Tomlinson Lo-Flo Inert Gas Generator

Ensure Safety First: Mitigate Methane Gas Risks in Underground Coal Mines

The Tomlinson Lo-Flo Inert Gas Generator has been developed primarily for use in the coal mining industry. The main application of the machine is to minimise the possibility of methane gas explosions in underground coal mines prior to sealing them off from the mine ventilation system by rendering the methane gas inert.

Typical inert gas specifications produced by a Tomlinson Lo-Flo Inert Gas Generator are:

  • Gas volume – 1,800 m3 per hour
  • Delivery pressure – 100 kPa
  • Oxygen content (O2) – less than 2%
  • Nitrogen content (N2) – 75%
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2) – 12.5%
